As gender nonforming or transgender people, we are especially wary of seeking emergency care, even when such
care is badly needed. In this interactive workshop, genderqueer nurse and comic Kelli Dunham and
queer/nurse Staci Priano walk participants through a visit to the emergency room, presenting information about
ER infrastructure and lead participants in brainstorming and role playing ways in which they can be empowered to
facilitate relatively positive endings to various ER scenarios. Open to all, with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for
everyone.
This presentation is part of the 11th annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference,
which runs from May 31st -June 2nd, 2012. The conference is free, but please register through the website.
